Umpire - Advanced Skills League at the ML South Hills

STARTING SPRING 2024
Responsibilities of a ML South Hills Umpire
  • Know the ML South Hills Advanced Skills rules (rules packet below starting with page 2)
  • Show up 15 minutes before game time
  • Dress in an umpire or referee shirt - if you don't have one, you can use one provided by the ML South Hills to be returned to the ML South Hills
  • Develop a relationship with the coaches and players
  • 1-2 game time slots available
  • Safe and Out at the bases
  • Notifying the coach (pitcher) after 10 pitches to a single batter that they have 5 pitches left
  • If the batter doesn't hit the ball after 15 pitches, umpire places a tee on home plate
  • Assist with catching if needed
