MLSH Junior Board

Our Junior Board is comprised of outstanding high school students from the south hills of Pittsburgh, who play an important role at the Miracle League of the South Hills. The MLSH Junior Board is an excellent opportunity to give back to your community, learn more about the impact of the Miracle League of the South Hills, and network amongst other young professionals who envision a community where all people with disabilities have opportunities to enhance their lives as athletes, teammates, and in everyday life. Members have the unique opportunity to serve as advocates for the Miracle League of the South Hills impact in the community while advancing their personal, professional, and leadership goals.

Mission
The mission of the Junior Board is to support the overall mission and activities of the Miracle League of the South Hills by acting as ambassadors, engaging community members, developing leadership skills, and gaining experience in volunteering, recruitment, and fundraising efforts. 

Purpose
The Junior Board was formed in order to identify and develop emerging community leaders, support the development of leadership skills, provide an opportunity for youth to perform meaningful community service, and engage a youthful perspective in the volunteering, recruitment, and fundraising efforts of the Miracle League of the South Hills.

Junior Board members will learn about:
  • Board Roles & Responsibilities
  • Developing Fundraising & Event Plans
  • Cultivating Volunteers 
  • ​Overcoming Obstacles & Resilience
  • Professional Behaviors & Collaborative Work

Qualifications
Available to high school students in the Pittsburgh area, Grades 9-12.
Must be an active Miracle League of the South Hills volunteer to apply (buddy, job coach, announcer).
